The geographic coordinates of Chourai is: 21°50'56.4"N 79°09'18.0"E. Chourai shares its borders with five other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Chourai are: Barghat, Seoni, Amarwara, Sausar, Chhindwara. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: Nagpur district of Maharashtra.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Sujeet Singh Choudhary of INC won in this seat defeating Ramesh Dubey of BJP by a margin of 13,004 which was 7.62% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 45.96% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Pt Ramesh Dudey of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Choudhary Gambheer Singh of INC by a margin of 13,631 votes which was 9.02% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 46.86% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Choudhary Mersingh of INC won this seat beating Pan Ramesh Dubey of BJP by a margin of 4,373 votes which was 3.7% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 35.65% in the seat.
