The geographic coordinates of Deotalab is: 24°38'22.6"N 81°43'28.6"E. Deotalab shares its borders with five other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Deotalab are: Teonthar, Mauganj, Mangawan, Gurh, Churhat. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: no other state.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Girish Gautam of BJP won in this seat defeating Seema Jaiveer Singh Sengar of BSP by a margin of 1,080 which was 0.8% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 33.23% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Girish Gautam of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ad Vidhya Wati Patel of BSP by a margin of 3,885 votes which was 3.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 29.9% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Girish Gautam of BJP won this seat beating Adv Bidyawati Patel of BSP by a margin of 3,764 votes which was 4.01% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BSP had a vote share of 22% in the seat.
