In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Omkar Singh Markam of INC won in this seat defeating Jay Singh Maravi of BJP by a margin of 32,050 which was 17.26% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 45.8% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Omkar Singh Markam of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Jay Singh Maravi of BJP by a margin of 6,388 votes which was 3.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 43.84% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Omkar Singh Markam of INC won this seat beating Omprakash Dhurve of BJP by a margin of 32,840 votes which was 23.55% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 49.41% in the seat.
