In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Shivdayal Bagri of INC won in this seat defeating Rajesh Kumar Verma of BJP by a margin of 1,984 which was 1.29% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 37.55% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Mahendra Singh of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Shiv Dayal of INC by a margin of 1,337 votes which was 1.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 33.66% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Rajesh Kumar Verma of BJP won this seat beating Engineer Jeewan Lal Siddharth of BSP by a margin of 4,828 votes which was 4.9% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BSP had a vote share of 33.5% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.59. Gunnour comprises of the following areas of Panna district in the Vindhya Pradesh region of Madhya Pradesh: Gunnaor Tehsil, Devendranagar RI Circle of Panna Tehsil, Devendranagar (Nagar Panchayat) NPT and Kakarhati (Nagar Panchayat) NPT.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,479 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Gunnour is: 24°30'25.9"N 80°12'16.2"E.
