The geographic coordinates of Gwalior East is: 26°12'47.5"N 78°11'39.8"E. Gwalior East shares its borders with three other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Gwalior East are: Gwalior Rural, Gwalior, Gwalior South. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: no other state.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Munnalal Goyal (Munna Bhaiya) of INC won in this seat defeating Satish Singh Sikarwar of BJP by a margin of 17,819 which was 10.26% of the total votes cast for the seat. INC had a vote share of 51.92% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Maya Singh (Mami) of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Munnalal Goyal (Munna Bhaiya) of INC by a margin of 1,147 votes which was 0.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 41.81% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Anup Mishra of BJP won this seat beating Munnalal Goyal (Munna Bhaiya) of INC by a margin of 1,538 votes which was 1.67% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 40.38% in the seat.
