In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Bharat Singh Kushwah of BJP won in this seat defeating Sahab Singh Gurjar of BSP by a margin of 1,517 which was 0.98% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 32.84% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Bharat Singh Kushwah of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Ram Sevak Singh (Babuji) of INC by a margin of 11,938 votes which was 9.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 38.4% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Madan Kushwah of BSP won this seat beating Mahendra Singh Yadav of BJP by a margin of 9,777 votes which was 10.86% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 32.9% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.14. Gwalior Rural comprises of the following areas of Gwalior district in the Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh: Lashkar, Rayaru, Murar, Guthina Urar, Behat and Supawali RI Circles, Morar Cantt (Cantonment Board) of Gwalior Tehsil.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,171 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Gwalior Rural is: 26°11'27.6"N 78°17'58.2"E.
