In 2013, Mev Rajkumar of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Sunil Khande of INC by a margin of 4,727 votes which was 3.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 48.26% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Dr Vijaylaxmi Sadho of INC won this seat beating Rajkumar Mev of BJP by a margin of 673 votes which was 0.54% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 46.23% in the seat.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,086 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Maheshwar is: 22°17'22.9"N 75°46'28.9"E.
