In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Deosingh Saiyam of BJP won in this seat defeating Prof Sanjeev Chhotelal Uikey of INC by a margin of 12,205 which was 6.32% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 46% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Sanjeev Chhote Lal Uikey of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Sampatiya Uikey of BJP by a margin of 3,827 votes which was 2.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 46.3% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Dev Singh Saiyam of BJP won this seat beating Sanveev Chhotelal Uike of INC by a margin of 8,943 votes which was 6.39% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 42.81% in the seat.

Mandla comprises of the following areas of Mandla district in the Mahakoshal region of Madhya Pradesh: Nainpur Tehsil, Bamhani and Mandla 'A' RI Circles of Mandla Tehsil, 27 Gonjhi Mal, 28 Katra, 30 Purwa, 31 Kourgaon, 32 Amanala, 33 Barbaspur, 34 Tilaipani and 35 Bineka Patwari Circles of Mandla 'B' RI Circle of Mandla Tehsil, 4 Mandla (M) MUC and Bamhani (Nagar Panchayat) NPT.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,403 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Mandla is: 22°30'17.6"N 80°15'13.0"E.
