In 2013, Girish Bhandari of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Mohan Sharma-Premnarayan of BJP by a margin of 23,018 votes which was 14.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 54.87% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Mohan Sharma of BJP won this seat beating Girish Bhandari of INC by a margin of 3,163 votes which was 2.57% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 45.69% in the seat.
