The geographic coordinates of Pawai is: 24°09'36.0"N 80°09'40.3"E. Pawai shares its borders with seven other Assembly constituencies in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The other Madhya Pradesh Assembly constituencies adjacent to Pawai are: Bijawar, Hatta, Gunnour, Nagod, Maihar, Murwara, Bahoriband. This constituency shares an inter-state border with: no other state.

Election results

In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, Prahlad Lodhi of BJP won in this seat defeating Pandit Mukesh Nayak of INC by a margin of 23,680 which was 11.84% of the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 39.83% in 2018 in this seat.

In 2013, Pandit Mukesh Nayak of INC emerged victorious in this seat beating Brijendra Pratap Singh of BJP by a margin of 11,695 votes which was 6.69% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 45.15% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Brijendra Pratap Singh of BJP won this seat beating Mukesh Nayak of BJSH by a margin of 1,090 votes which was 0.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJSH had a vote share of 29.96% in the seat.
