In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Pratap Keshari Deb of BJD won in this constituency beating Devendra Sharma of INC by a margin of 55,851 votes which was 32.26% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Devendra Sharma of INC was the winner in this seat beating Pratap Keshari Deb of BJD by a margin of 3,503 votes which was 2.11% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pratap Keshari Deb of BJD won this seat defeating Devendra Sharma of INC by a margin of 5,877 votes which was 4.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
