In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Debiprasad Mishra of BJD won in this constituency beating Bijaya Kumar Dalabehera of BJP by a margin of 18,019 votes which was 10.36% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Debiprasad Mishra of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Laxmi Devi of INC by a margin of 68,011 votes which was 43.18% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Debiprasad Mishra of BJD won this seat defeating Surendra Kumar Nanda of INC by a margin of 38,189 votes which was 28.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.
