In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Debesh Acharya of BJD won in this constituency beating Ashwini Kumar Sarangi of BJP by a margin of 8,452 votes which was 5.23% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Debesh Acharya of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Sadhu Nepak of INC by a margin of 13,204 votes which was 9.05% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Sadhu Nepak of INC won this seat defeating Ananda Acharya of BJD by a margin of 1,969 votes which was 1.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.
