In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Jagannath Saraka of BJD won in this constituency beating Nilamadhaba Hikaka of INC by a margin of 13,332 votes which was 7.71% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Jagannath Saraka of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Dambarudhar Ulaka of INC by a margin of 29,186 votes which was 17.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Damburudhara Ulaka of INC won this seat defeating Jagannath Saraka of BJD by a margin of 349 votes which was 0.25% of the total votes polled for the seat.
