In 2014, Pradip Kumar Amat of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Susanta Kumar Pradhan of INC by a margin of 11,148 votes which was 9.92% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pradip Kumar Amat of BJD won this seat defeating Susanta Kumar Pradhan of IND by a margin of 28,207 votes which was 28.87% of the total votes polled for the seat.
