In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Purna Chandra Baka of BJD won in this constituency beating Laxmipriya Nayak of INC by a margin of 2,545 votes which was 1.97% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Dambaru Sisa of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Sunadhar Kakari of INC by a margin of 24,730 votes which was 21.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Mamta Madhi of INC won this seat defeating Dambaru Sisa of BJD by a margin of 260 votes which was 0.32% of the total votes polled for the seat.
