In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Mousadhi Bag of BJD won in this constituency beating Ananta Pratap Deo of BJP by a margin of 16,098 votes which was 8.19% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Puspendra Singh Deo of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Rabindra Pattjoshi of BJP by a margin of 16,158 votes which was 8.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Puspendra Singh Deo of BJD won this seat defeating Rahasbihari Behera of INC by a margin of 22,906 votes which was 14.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.
