In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Ashok Chandra Panda of BJD won in this constituency beating Babu Singh of BJP by a margin of 28,657 votes which was 21.8% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Ashok Chandra Panda of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Amiya Dash of BJP by a margin of 36,476 votes which was 31.8% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Ashok Chandra Panda of BJD won this seat defeating Pratap Kumar Jena of INC by a margin of 43,450 votes which was 51.76% of the total votes polled for the seat.
