In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Pranab Prakash Das of BJD won in this constituency beating Goutam Ray of BJP by a margin of 40,656 votes which was 24.55% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Pranab Prakash Das of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Santosh Kumar Nanda of INC by a margin of 84,613 votes which was 56.03% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Pranab Prakash Das of BJD won this seat defeating Debabrata Kantha of INC by a margin of 30,245 votes which was 24.53% of the total votes polled for the seat.
