In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Arabinda Dhali of BJD won in this constituency beating Naba Kishor Mallick of IND by a margin of 18,700 votes which was 13.27% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Sashi Bhusan Behera of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Benudhar Bhoi of INC by a margin of 40,951 votes which was 33.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Arabinda Dhali of BJD won this seat defeating Narendranath Nayak of IND by a margin of 43,604 votes which was 41.84% of the total votes polled for the seat.
