In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Taraprasad Bahinipati of INC won in this constituency beating Rabi Narayan Nanda of BJD by a margin of 5,451 votes which was 3.45% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Tara Prasad Bahinipati of INC was the winner in this seat beating Rabi Narayan Nanda of BJD by a margin of 8,367 votes which was 5.71% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Rabi Narayan Nanda of BJD won this seat defeating Tara Prasad Bahinipati of BJP by a margin of 9,316 votes which was 7.47% of the total votes polled for the seat.
