In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Mahidhar Rana of BJD won in this constituency beating Kanhai Charan Danga of BJP by a margin of 3,650 votes which was 2.8% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Mahidhar Rana of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Harinarayan Pradhan of INC by a margin of 25,366 votes which was 21.97% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Bhagban Kanhor of BJD won this seat defeating Kanhai Charan Danga of INC by a margin of 14,453 votes which was 14.05% of the total votes polled for the seat.
