In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Saroj Kumar Meher of BJD won in this constituency beating Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo of BJP by a margin of 11,159 votes which was 5.48% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo of BJP was the winner in this seat beating Prakriti Devi Singh Deo of BJD by a margin of 13,653 votes which was 7.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo of BJP won this seat defeating Prakriti Devi Singh Deo of BJD by a margin of 19,382 votes which was 12.21% of the total votes polled for the seat.
