In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Srikanta Sahu of BJD won in this constituency beating Gokula Nanda Mallik of BJP by a margin of 12,739 votes which was 7.98% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Srikant Sahu of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Gokulananda Mallik of INC by a margin of 21,217 votes which was 15.29% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Niranjan Pradhan of BJD won this seat defeating Ram Krushna Patnaik of INC by a margin of 11,322 votes which was 10.06% of the total votes polled for the seat.
