In 2014, Rohit Pujari of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Assaf Ali Khan of INC by a margin of 11,909 votes which was 8.84% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prasanna Acharya of BJD won this seat defeating Assaf Ali Khan of INC by a margin of 9,764 votes which was 9.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
