In the 2019 Odisha Assembly elections, Tukuni Sahu of BJD won in this constituency beating Surendra Sing Bhoi of INC by a margin of 19,637 votes which was 10.66% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Tukuni Sahu of BJD was the winner in this seat beating Surendra Singh Bhoi of INC by a margin of 14,022 votes which was 8.21% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Surendra Singh Bhoi of INC won this seat defeating Jogendra Behera of BJD by a margin of 4,838 votes which was 3.28% of the total votes polled for the seat.
