In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, A Johnkumar of BJP won in this constituency beating M O H F Shajahan of INC by a margin of 7229 votes which was 24.86% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ve. Vaithilingam of INC was the winner in this seat beating P. Ganesan of AIADMK by a margin of 5106 votes which was 19.81% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, V. Vaithilingam of INC won this seat defeating Nara. Kalainathan of CPI by a margin of 6029 votes which was 28.3% of the total votes polled for the seat.
