In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, G Nehru alias Kuppusamy of IND won in this constituency beating S Gopal of DMK by a margin of 2093 votes which was 10.43% of the total votes cast. In 2016, R. Siva of DMK was the winner in this seat beating G. Nehru @ Kuppusamy of AINRC by a margin of 2980 votes which was 14.44% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, G. Nehru @ Kuppusamy of AINRC won this seat defeating R. Siva of DMK by a margin of 2618 votes which was 13.17% of the total votes polled for the seat.
