In the 2021 Puducherry Assembly elections, K Lakshminarayanan of AINRC won in this constituency beating S P Sivakumar of DMK by a margin of 3732 votes which was 19.48% of the total votes cast. In 2016, K. Lakshminarayanan of INC was the winner in this seat beating P. Kannan of AIADMK by a margin of 2225 votes which was 11.13% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K. Lakshminarayanan of INC won this seat defeating M. Saravanakumar of AIADMK by a margin of 7071 votes which was 36.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
