In 2013, Ashok Parnami of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Mahir Azad of INC by a margin of 3,803 votes which was 2.56% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 47.22% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Ashok Parnami of BJP won this seat beating Mahir Azad of INC by a margin of 1,718 votes which was 1.53% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 47.13% in the seat.
