In the 2008 elections, Dilip Choudhary of IND won this seat beating Surendra Goyal of BJP by a margin of 6,668 votes which was 4.85% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 31.31% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.116. Jaitaran comprises of the following areas of Pali district in the West region of Rajasthan: Tehsil Jaitaran, Tehsil Raipur (Partly) – (I) IlRC Kot Kirana (II) IlRC Babra (III) IlRC Sendra (IV) IlRC Raipur (Partly) – (i) PC Bar (ii) PC Deepawas.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 2,038 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Jaitaran is: 26°13'13.8"N 74°04'21.0"E.
