In 2013, Nana Lal Ahari of BJP emerged victorious in this seat beating Dayaram Parmar of INC by a margin of 11,166 votes which was 6.49% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 49.3% in the seat.

In the 2008 elections, Dayaram Parmar of INC won this seat beating Nana Lal Ahari of BJP by a margin of 14,757 votes which was 10.78% of the total votes polled in the constituency. BJP had a vote share of 50.2% in the seat.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 1,361 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kherwara is: 24°48'30.6"N 76°22'46.2"E.

A total of five Assembly constituencies in the state of Rajasthan share borders with Kherwara constituency, which are: Jhadol, Udaipur Rural, Salumber, Aspur, Dungarpur. This constituency shares an inter-state/international border with Sabarkantha and Arvalli districts of Gujarat.
