In the 2008 elections, Ramswaroop of LSWP won this seat beating Rajendra Singh of INC by a margin of 893 votes which was 0.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 20.86% in the seat.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 616 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kotputli is: 27°41'29.4"N 76°06'48.2"E.
