In the 2008 elections, Jeevaram Choudhary of IND won this seat beating Sukharam Vishnoi of INC by a margin of 3,614 votes which was 2.32% of the total votes polled in the constituency. INC had a vote share of 35.53% in the seat.

Assembly constituency no.144. Sanchore comprises of the following areas of Jalore district in the West region of Rajasthan: Tehsil Sanchore (Partly) – (I) IlRC Sanchore including Municipal Board Sanchore (II) IlRC Chitalwana (III) IlRC Jhab (IV) IlRC Sarwana (V) IlRC Surachand (VI) IlRC Arnay.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 2,469 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Sanchore is: 24°50'10.7"N 71°36'50.0"E.

A total of four Assembly constituencies in the state of Rajasthan share borders with Sanchore constituency, which are: Gudhamalani, Chohtan, Bhinmal, Raniwara. This constituency shares an inter-state/international border with Kachchh and Banaskantha districts of Gujarat.
