In the 2019 Sikkim Assembly elections, Dilli Ram Thapa of SDF won in this constituency beating Nagendra Bikram Gurung of SKM by a margin of 757 votes which was 6.42% of the total votes cast. In 2014, Prem Singh Tamang of SKM was the winner in this seat beating D R Thapa of SDF by a margin of 573 votes which was 5.51% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2009 Assembly elections, Prem Singh Tamang of SDF won this seat defeating Arun Kumar Rai of INC by a margin of 4,563 votes which was 60.73% of the total votes polled for the seat.
