In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Siva V Meyyanathan of DMK won in this constituency beating Dharma Thangavel of AIADMK by a margin of 25847 votes which was 15.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Meyyanathan .Siva .V of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Gnana Kalaiselvan of AIADMK by a margin of 9941 votes which was 6.29% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Krishnan.Kupa of AIADMK won this seat defeating Arulmani.S of PMK by a margin of 5127 votes which was 3.71% of the total votes polled for the seat.
