In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, A P Nandakumar of DMK won in this constituency beating D Velazhagan of AIADMK by a margin of 6360 votes which was 3.24% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Nandakumar. A.P of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Kalaiarasu. M of AIADMK by a margin of 8768 votes which was 4.83% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Kalaiarasu.M. of PMK won this seat defeating Velu.V.B. of DMDK by a margin of 27903 votes which was 18.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
