Anna Nagar Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Chennai district in the North region of Tamil Nadu: Chennai (M Corp.) (Part) Chennai (M Corp.) Ward No.66 to 70 and 73 to 75.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 12 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Anna Nagar is: 13°04'46.9"N 80°13'14.2"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 57.33%, while it was 60.04% in 2016, and 66.86% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, M K Mohan of DMK won in this constituency beating S Gokula Indira of AIADMK by a margin of 27445 votes which was 16.78% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Mohan M.K. of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Gokulaindira S of AIADMK by a margin of 1086 votes which was 0.64% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Gokula Indira S of AIADMK won this seat defeating Arivazhagan V.K. of INC by a margin of 36590 votes which was 24.13% of the total votes polled for the seat.
