Arcot Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Vellore district in the North region of Tamil Nadu: Arcot Taluk Vellore Taluk (Part) Palamadai, Edayansathu, Adukkamparai, Thuttipattu, Sirukalambur, Nelvoy, Sathumadurai, Munjurpattu, Pangalathan, Selamanatham, Kaniyambadi, Veppampattu, Kanikkaniyan, Kathalampattu, Palathuvannan, Singarikoil, Vallam, Kilpallipattu, Mottupalayam, Kammasamudram and Mothakkal villages.

This constituency covers an approximate area of 642 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Arcot is: 12°48'01.1"N 79°18'45.4"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 79.62%, while it was 82.48% in 2016, and 83.21% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, J L Eswarappan of DMK won in this constituency beating Elavazagan K L of PMK by a margin of 19958 votes which was 9.62% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Eswarappan J L of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Ramadoss.K.V of AIADMK by a margin of 11091 votes which was 5.45% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, R. Srinivasan of AIADMK won this seat defeating K.L. Elavazagan of PMK by a margin of 19253 votes which was 10.96% of the total votes polled for the seat.
