In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, K Chinnadurai of DMK won in this constituency beating A P Jayasankaran of AIADMK by a margin of 7361 votes which was 3.97% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Chinnathambi R M of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Arthanari S K of INC by a margin of 17334 votes which was 9.28% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Madheswaran.S of AIADMK won this seat defeating Arthanari.S.K. of INC by a margin of 29856 votes which was 18.83% of the total votes polled for the seat.
