Bargur (TP). In 2016, V.Rajendran of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Govinddarasan.E.C of DMK by a margin of 982 votes which was 0.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K.E.Krishnamurthi of AIADMK won this seat defeating T.K.Raja of PMK by a margin of 29440 votes which was 18.59% of the total votes polled for the seat.
