Bargur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Krishnagiri district in the North region of Tamil Nadu: Krishnagiri Taluk (Part) Guruvinayanapalli, Oppathavadi, Salinayanapalli, Chinniamttarapalli, Varattanapalli, Chinnathimminayanapalli, Palepalli, Madepalli, Mallapadi, Sigaralapalli, Kondappanayanapalli, Achamangalam, Balinayanapalli, Orappam, Soolamalai, Chendarapalli, Jagadevipalayam, Pasinayanapalli, Battalapalli, Guttur, Puligunta, Ikondamkothapalli, Majeethgollahalli, Modikuppam, Balekuli, Thallihalli, Marichettihalli, Mottur, Pennaswaramadam and Thatrahalli villages. Bargur (TP). Pochampalli Taluk (Part) Mahadevagollahalli, Kadappasandampatti, Kattagaram, Veppalampatti, Peddappanpatti, Alerahalli, Mathinaickenpatti, Vadamalampatti, Thimminaikanpatti, Veeramalai, Maruderi, Kudimenahalli, Vilangamudi, Jambukuttapatti, Keelkuppam, Barur, Chellakuttapatti, Pannandur, Dhamodarahalli, Puliyampatti, Vadamangalam, Bendarahalli and Kottapatti villages. Nagojanahalli (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 618 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Bargur is: 12°27'38.2"N 78°19'42.2"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 79.08%, while it was 82.19% in 2016, and 81.86% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Mathiazhagan D of DMK won in this constituency beating Krishnan A of AIADMK by a margin of 12614 votes which was 6.43% of the total votes cast. In 2016, V.Rajendran of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Govinddarasan.E.C of DMK by a margin of 982 votes which was 0.52% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, K.E.Krishnamurthi of AIADMK won this seat defeating T.K.Raja of PMK by a margin of 29440 votes which was 18.59% of the total votes polled for the seat.
