In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Arunmozhithevan A of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Saravanan Durai K of DMK by a margin of 8259 votes which was 4.21% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Saravanan, Durai K. of DMK was the winner in this seat beating Selvi Ramajayam of AIADMK by a margin of 5488 votes which was 2.88% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Selvi of AIADMK won this seat defeating T.Arivuselvan of PMK by a margin of 13117 votes which was 7.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.
