Extent

Edappadi Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Salem district in the North region of Tamil Nadu: Edappadi Taluk Mettur Taluk (Part) Veerakkal, Kuttapatti, Mallikuttappatti, Chinnasoragai, Periyasoragai, Dasagappatti, Vanavasi, Soorappalli, Thoramangalam and Karikkapatti villages. Nangavalli (TP), Vanavasi (TP), Avadattur (CT) and Jalakandapuram (TP).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 455 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Edappadi is: 11°37'57.0"N 77°50'48.8"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 85.64%, while it was 86.41% in 2016, and 85.48% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Palaniswami K of AIADMK won in this constituency beating Sambathkumar T of DMK by a margin of 93802 votes which was 38.1% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Palaniswami. K of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Annadurai. N of PMK by a margin of 42022 votes which was 18.62% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Palaniswami.K of AIADMK won this seat defeating Karthe.M of PMK by a margin of 34738 votes which was 18.73% of the total votes polled for the seat.
