Erode (West) Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Erode district in the West region of Tamil Nadu: Perundurai Taluk (Part) Vadamugam Vellode, Pungampadi, Kavundachipalayam, Thenmugam Vellode and Mukasi Pulavampalayam villages. Erode Taluk (Part) Karai Ellapalayam, Elavamalai, Mettunasuvanpalayam, Perodu, Nochipalayam, Gangapuram, Ellapalayam, Villarasampatti, Thindal (Mel), Thindal (Kil), Kadirampatti, Rayapalayam, Modakarai, Koorapalayam, Thottani, Puthur Pudupalayam, Nanjanapuram, Pavalathampalayam, Veppampalayam and Muthampalayam villages. Suriyampalayam (TP), Chithode (TP), Nasiyanur (TP), Periyasemur (TP), Surampatti (TP) and Kasipalayam (E) (TP).

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Muthusamy S of DMK won in this constituency beating Ramalingam K V of AIADMK by a margin of 22089 votes which was 10.85% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Ramalingam K.V. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Muthusamy S of DMK by a margin of 4906 votes which was 2.59% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Ramalingam K.V of AIADMK won this seat defeating Yuvaraja M of INC by a margin of 37868 votes which was 24.73% of the total votes polled for the seat.
