In 2016, Arumugam.B of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Anbarasan.K of DMK by a margin of 3047 votes which was 2.09% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Subramanian. N of AIADMK won this seat defeating Kavithaipithan. S of DMK by a margin of 19699 votes which was 16.1% of the total votes polled for the seat.
