In 2016, Veeramani.K.C. of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Kavitha.C of DMK by a margin of 10991 votes which was 6.07% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Veeramani, K.C. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Ponnusamy,G. of PMK by a margin of 22936 votes which was 14.66% of the total votes polled for the seat.
