In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, C V M P Ezhailzrasan of DMK won in this constituency beating P Magesh Kumar of PMK by a margin of 11595 votes which was 5.11% of the total votes cast. In 2016, C.V.M.P. Ezhilarasan of DMK was the winner in this seat beating T.Mythili of AIADMK by a margin of 7548 votes which was 3.37% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, V. Somasundaram of AIADMK won this seat defeating P. S. Ulagarakshagan of PMK by a margin of 25717 votes which was 13.38% of the total votes polled for the seat.
