Karur Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Karur district in the Kaveri Delta region of Tamil Nadu: Karur Taluk (Part) Nanjai Kadambankurichi, Punjai Kadambankurichi, Nanniyur, Kuppuchipalayam, Vangal, Nerur North, Nerur South, Achamapuram, Somur, Panchamadevi, Minnampalli, Manmangalam, Athur, Andankoil (West), Kadaparai, Thirumanilaiyur and Andankoil East villages. Inam Karur (TP), Karur (M) and Thanthoni (TP)

This constituency covers an approximate area of 217 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Karur is: 10°59'32.3"N 78°05'18.2"E.

According to data released by the Election Commission of India, In 2021, this seat registered a turnout of 83.57%, while it was 80.55% in 2016, and 84.08% in 2011.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Senthilbalaji V of DMK won in this constituency beating Vijayabhaskar M R of AIADMK by a margin of 12448 votes which was 6.03% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Vijayabhaskar .M.R of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Subramanian .Bank .K of INC by a margin of 441 votes which was 0.24% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Senthil Balaji, V. of AIADMK won this seat defeating Jothi Mani, S. of INC by a margin of 44145 votes which was 27.08% of the total votes polled for the seat.
