In 2016, Loganathan.G of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Amalu V of DMK by a margin of 9746 votes which was 5.9% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Thamizharasan.C.K of AIADMK won this seat defeating Seetharaman.K of DMK by a margin of 9760 votes which was 6.93% of the total votes polled for the seat.
