Kumarapalayam Assembly constituency comprises the following areas of Namakkal district in the West region of Tamil Nadu: Tiruchengodu Taluk (Part) Kumarapalaiyam Agraharam, Komarapalayam, Pallakkapalaiyam, Sowdapuram, Modamangalam, Modamangalam Agraharam, Anangur, Elandakuttai, Kalaiyanur, Kalaiyanur Agraharam, Samayasangili Agraharam, Pallipalaiyam Agraharam, Odappalli Agraharam, Kadachanallur, Pappampalayam and Kokkarayanpettai villages. Kumarapalayam (M), Padaiveedu (TP), Pallipalayam Agraharam (CT), Alampalayam (TP), Pallipalayam (TP) and Pudupalayam Agraharam (CT).

This constituency covers an approximate area of 193 square kilometers and the geographic coordinates of Kumarapalayam is: 11°24'04.7"N 77°46'19.9"E.

In the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, Thangamani P of AIADMK won in this constituency beating M Venkatachalam of DMK by a margin of 31646 votes which was 15.78% of the total votes cast. In 2016, Thangamani P of AIADMK was the winner in this seat beating Yuvaraj P of DMK by a margin of 47329 votes which was 25.36% of the total votes polled in the constituency. In the 2011 Assembly elections, Thangamani.P of AIADMK won this seat defeating Selvaraju.G of DMK by a margin of 26887 votes which was 16.7% of the total votes polled for the seat.
